Young Widows Advancement Program (YWAP) exists to assists young widows and orphans live long prosperous lives through psychosocial, socio-legal and socio-economic support. YWAP runs a Centre for widows and orphans in Kayole Nairobi, Kenya. These widows lose their matrimonial homes and property after the death of the husband. Kayole being moderate slum estate, most widows who lose their matrimonial homes tend to end up in Kayole.

YWAP concept is to assist widows and orphans live long and prosperous lives through psychosocial (Group therapy), socio-legal and legal support. YWAP runs a support center for widows and orphans in Kayole estate in Nairobi, Kenya and a support office in Siaya town, Siaya County in Nyanza province. Majority of these widows who lose their matrimonial homes tend to end up In Kayole hence the center is a temporally home for young widows and their children who have lost their homes and property to greedy and selfish in-laws.

YWAP core function is to advance interests of widows and orphans, promoting their rights and generating public awareness on issues of property ownership, sexual and inheritance rights. We aim at reducing destitution among widows and their children

Our mission statement is to advance the interest of Widows and orphans by promoting the protection of their sexual, property and inheritance rights. Our values is in building the capacity of widows for the growth of her spirit and potential. We believe women’s ability to successfully run and manage the family’s wealth for the family welfare.
